Linda, It is possible that you do need root canals and crowns on those teeth even if you are not feeling any pain, or not seeing any decay. There could be decay that you'd only see on an x ray, or more likely there may have been previous trauma to the teeth. If you were in a accident or got hit in the mouth in the past it may only now require treatment. I am curious to know what you went to get a consultation for. I would absolutely suggest you get a second opinion. When you are talking about such a large amount of money, and if you are not feeling comfortable about the proposed treatment it would be worth the peace of mind to have someone else take a look. If you have copies of the x rays we could schedule you to come in for a free consultation. Please feel free to give us a call with any questions or to schedule an appointment. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Thank You, Dr. Nancy Khalaf 2345 Ocean Avenue San Francsico, CA 94127 (415) 333-2308
